EU HF Contest 2008 - results
I came across EU HF Contest 2008 results during my browsing on internet. I have been surpriced by very fast contest evaluation. My congratulations to contest commitee.
Brief commentary on my result. I haven´t achieved TOP 10 in MIX LP category again.
Small comfort for me is the move forward for 1 position to 12th place in MIX LP category in comparison with last year. I can achieve TOP 10 by this progress in 2 years. :-)
Nice result has been achieved by Peter OL6P in CW LP category - 5th place.
Other nice results of Czech stations in this unofficial European Championship:
OL8M - 5th place in CW HP
OL3Z - 6th place in CW LP
In national competition the Czech republic moved forward to 8th place. It´s a pity that lower amount of Czech stations participated in this contest. For instance I have been only one station in MIX LP from OK!
Complete results you can find here.

SO2R station - installation of Master units
I have decided to improve my SO2R station after the WW DX contest. I have focused to automatic switching of antennas and BPFs. This feature is provided by 2 pieces of Master Station units from Microham.
I have to say that the options of this unit are really wide. You can:
- configure RX/TX antennas for each band
- configure virtual rotator for 4 square
- control SteppIR
- many other features that you can find on Microham web pages
It is really significant improvement of my SO2R station.
I only have to exploit it during the contest! :-)

OK DX Contest 2008
It´s done!
I looked forward for this contest very much. One of the reason was my unsuccessful participation during CQ WW DX SSB. Due to business reasons I was able to be on air only during the Saturday.
Moreover I instigated my father OK2BPU to participate as well. As I know he participated in OK DX contest for the last time twenty years ago.
Contest preparations were done as usually on Friday before the contest. When everything seemed to be OK I was received SMS from father: last update of N1MM logger doesn´t work properly !!! So the fast downgrade to version 7.3.0 succeeded immediatelly.
Contest run over without problems except my sleep crisis around 5 A.M. (as usually). Probably right choosen tactics of band changes good propagations and better SO2R skills helped me to achieve my best historical result in OK DX Contest.
Claimed score:
